Somatostatin analogues in the treatment of a patient with acromegaly - possible positive effects on concomitant epilepsy (a clinical case)

Somatostatin may act as a neurotransmitter in the neural network. It`s associated with a possible long-term effect on calcium channels and, as a result, on the membrane potential of the cell. Bradycardia due to somatostatin analoguesÂ’ use could be a clinical demonstration of such effect.
